Have you ever become a victim of a fraud? How did it happen?
今まで詐欺の被害にあったことがありますか?どんな手口でしたか?

avatar EnglishPod101.com:

I’ve never been a victim of fraud. But there are many cases of fraud lately in Japan, where people get phone calls urging them to transfer money into a bank account. Let’s be careful not to fall for these scams!

Sachiko

I’ve never been a victim either, but every day I receive tons of junk e-mail urging you to clear your bank account information or password with such and such company or your account might get cancelled… last week I also had a text message on my phone that said “hey ! We had fun last night ! But you didn’t call back so I wondered if you lost my number. Just drop me a line at “number…” ” With said number being a hoax redirecting you to some overpriced overseas operator… There are a lot of those around recently.

avatar Javizy:

I suspected this was true since it sounded a little hard to make up, not that I doubt the ability of the writing staff

avatar Shiho:

Hi, it’s first time for me to visit this site…..and this was the first lesson I listened…and actually I HAVE been a victim of fraud, not once but twice….well, but maybe not quite, because I found out it was a scam before I gave my money away….It’s a long story so maybe some day you guys can use it on NewsorNot lesson, haha  I must say, what happened to me was not as crazy as today’s news… :dogeza:

avatar Emi:

avatar Cory:

Sachiko> Yeah, that method of fraud has received a lot of news coverage. I feel sorry for the people who fell for them.

プチクレア>
Annoying junk mails! I am lucky in the sense that I don’t get any spam msgs on my phone. As soon as you open a new e-mail account, your account is flooded with junk mails. Very annoying! Who falls for them?

Javizy>
Yes, this case sounds very realistic. It sounds very plausible, that I might try it…. Oh, you didn’t hear that.

avatar Cory:

Shiho>
Hey, thanks for listening! I am sorry to hear that someone tried to cheat you some money! Glad that you found them out though. If the perpetrators are caught, maybe we can use the story in News or Not. lol

Emi>

avatar Bob:

Bob here!

I only have one thing to say: best, bonus track, ever!
