We have the exact same law in France. But on top of the smoker getting fined for smoking, the bar owner allowing them to smoke is also fined. I’m not sure about jail, though. The oriental tobacco pipe narghile , which is very fashionable, has the same restrictions (ie special smoking rooms), and that caused
some uproar too as previously there were bars especially devoted to narghile smoking .
This law might seem unduly harsh, but speaking for French people, we are nowhere near as disciplined as Japanese people. If you don’t have a strict law, people more or less do as they please…and even with the law they do ! Protecting non-smoker from passive tobacco- related disease calls for such a law.
大賛成です!人前での喫煙は軽い障害行為と見なされてもいいと思います!医療機関で働いていると、タバコの煙を吸った人の肺を見る機会があるのですが、本当に、あれを見たら皆タバコやめたくなると思いますよ
