(sorry but I can’t understand the japanese parts yet. It’s good to listen to the conversations to pick up rhythm and tone, ganbatte!)
A good opposite phrase of this is “down to earth”, people who are honest and don’t need unnecessary material possessions to make themselves feel secure.
